: Ms. Rachel commenced her musical journey at the age of 4 and graduated with a Master of Performing Arts (Music) in the University of Malaya (UM), with first-class honors. While studying her master degree, she majored in piano, minored in clarinet and music education. She attained her Performer’s Certificate (Solo Piano) at the age of 17, with highest distinction and followed by ATCL with distinction before pursuing the master degree. She was proudly given a full scholarship to study her master degree. She also achieved her DipABRSM in Piano Performance and DipABRSM in teaching respectively.

Ms. Rachel has been teaching since 2004 and has extensive experience working with students of all ages from 3-66, in both Malaysia and Singapore. She had been teaching in schools such as Yamaha, Rhythm Academy of Music and Harmony Road Music School. She has prepared students for music exams in ABRSM and Trinity board and has consistently produced good results with her students scoring 90% of distinctions and merits. She enjoys working with all age groups and has great experience working with very young children as she was trained in group keyboard setting to specially teach toddlers and children of 3-5 years old.

Ms. Rachel enjoys being the piano accompanist for her students and she has been accompanying students undertaking ABRSM, Trinity exams ranging from Grade 1 to Diploma. Her piano student took part in the International Yamaha Piano Competition and Singapore Raffles Music Competition.

Besides the piano, she also plays the clarinet. She obtained Gold medal in the 21st International Band Competition in 2005 and has performed extensively in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan. She has performed with UM Symphony Orchestra, CHS Symphony Band and Singapore KS Wind Symphony and at countless venues, including Victoria Concert Hall, Esplanade Concert hall, SOTA, MPO, KLPAC, Genting Highlands and KLCC.

Ms. Rachel believes every child is different. She individualizes her teaching method to best suit her student’s learning capabilities for maximal results. The combination of creating a fun learning environment, interesting lessons and paired together with her love and passion for music results in Ms. Rachel being well liked by parents and students.
