Chen Tian

Field(s) of study: Viola, Violin Degrees: Bachelor of Music (Honours), NAFA-Royal College of Music (Sg/UK), Diploma of Music, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Biography: Born into a musical family, Ms Chen Tian started learning the violin at the age of 4. Both of her parents are musicians, with a violinist violist father and violinist pianist mother. She was under the tutelage of Mr Zhang Zhen Shan for violin (SSO) and Ms Marietta Ku (SSO) for viola. During her time in nafa, she received the Most Improved GPA award and got into both RCM Philharmonic Orchestra and RCM Repertoire Orchestra during her study in RCM. She performed with NAFA orchestra, OMM, Music for People, was second chair violinist for Kids' Philharmonic as well as Principal violist for Singapore Youth Ohilharmonic Orchestra. She also performed string quartet for numerous occasions, playing classical, pop and musical theatre. She was also a preschool music teacher. She is passionate and dedicated about teaching and believes that music is a universal language that connects people from different cultural backgrounds, and that music will bring people together. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, learning new things and meeting people. Faculty : Faculty since January 2026
