Jenny Lin Chia Chen

Field(s) of study: Piano Degrees: Bachelor of Music in Piano, National Taipei University of Education Biography: Ms Lin Chia Chen is a pianist and music educator with over 10 years of teaching experience in Singapore and Taiwan. She graduated from National Taipei University of Education with a Bachelor of Music in Piano, with additional professional studies in music education and minor in Oboe. Alongside her teaching career, Ms Chia Chen has built an extensive performance background through solo, chamber, orchestral, and choral performances internationally. Her recent appearances include the Lancaster International Piano Festival at the Barshinger Center, Franklin & Marshall College, U.S.A. (2024), and a piano duet recital at the Esplanade Recital Studio, Singapore (2023). In Taiwan, she has performed in major concert productions including the National Choir’s Christmas Praise Concert at Miaobei Arts Center (2018), conducted by Martin Schebesta, and the National Choir and Evergreen Symphony Orchestra’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban movie symphony concert at the National Concert Hall, Taiwan (2018), conducted by Shih-Hung Young. She also participated in the Taipei International Choral Music Festival (2017), performing under the direction of Gábor Hollerung at the National Concert Hall, Taiwan. Her international festival appearances include performances at The Silk Road International Music Festival in Xi’an Concert Hall, China (2018), where she was awarded Best Performance in the festival competition, as well as participation in the Académies Internationales d’Été du Grand Nancy in France (2012). In addition, she toured Italy with the NTUE Orchestra, performing in recital halls at the Brescia Conservatoire and Conservatorio di Musica di Perugia (2015). Ms Chia Chen has also actively participated in international masterclasses and music festivals, studying with renowned professors and artists from the United States, Europe, and Asia. These experiences have further shaped her artistic development, collaborative musicianship, and teaching philosophy. Ms Chia Chen has also received awards in several piano competitions, including First Prize in the Taipei City Student Music Competition – Southern District Piano Competition (2015), and Second Prize in the Professional Teenager Category of The Asia Piano Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2012). With her diverse experience in piano performance, orchestral collaboration, choral productions, and music education, Chia Chen brings a holistic and expressive approach to teaching. She is passionate about nurturing students’ musicality, technical foundation, confidence, and artistic individuality in a supportive and inspiring learning environment. She believes in creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where every student can grow at their own pace and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.
