Saran Charoennit
Field(s) of study: Cello Degrees: Bachelor of Cello Performance, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore (Full Scholarship) Biography: Saran Charoennit is a cellist with a versatile career spanning orchestral, Theatre, and early music. He studied at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music under Ng Pei Sian, Leslie Tan, Yu Jing, and Qin Li Wei. Saran has performed in prestigious concert hall across the globe such as Carnegie Hall, Musikverein in Vienna, Esplanade concert hall. Since 2021, Saran has performed as a freelance cellist with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, and the Sun Symphony Orchestra, and served as Principal Cellist with the YST Orchestra. Earlier in his career, he was Principal Cellist of the Siam Sinfonietta and of the FIJO Alicante International Orchestra Festival, and won First Prize at the Summa Cum Laude Music Festival. Saran brings this breadth of experience — from the modern symphony orchestra to the opera stage to historically informed performance — into his teaching, offering students a well-rounded and versatile musical education.
